Rhede’s future in focus: The chosen ones – four projects receive jury support

Dear participants of the Rheder Model,

the jury has decided in favour of funding the following four projects in Rhede:

The Department of Education and Social Affairs in cooperation with the parents’ initiative Handicap Kidz will receive funding for a swimming training programme (Seepferdchen) for children with special needs. Families can register for a 10-hour course organised by the “Tigerhaie” swimming school. The course, which would otherwise cost around €500.00, is 90% covered by the Rheder Modell. Further information can be obtained from the Education, Sport and Family Department of Rhede Town Council.

The volunteer group of rickshaw drivers from Rhede receives funding for a new rickshaw. The almost 40 volunteers drive the tours for senior citizens at the two senior centres from March to the end of October. The previous three rickshaws have already travelled 40,000 km.

The Caritas Association for the Bocholt Deanery is being supported with the “Urban Gardening at Gudula Kloster” project. The neighbourhood work project offers the opportunity to garden together on raised beds and table beds on the community terrace in the monastery garden. This creates a meeting place where like-minded people can exchange ideas, and amateur gardeners are welcome to join in.

Jugendwerk Rhede e.V. receives funding for the opening of the bike park.
Thanks to the active support of many young people from Rhede, the construction of the bike park can be realised. The opening is intended to honour this support in a special setting. Especially against the background of social integration in the neighbourhood, the opening is also about breaking down any prejudices that may have arisen.

We are very pleased to be able to support four projects with the funding amount of 22,000 euros!
