All industry sectors rely heavily on reliable energy supply. To conserve as much energy as possible, production facilities, need to have control and shut-off dampers installed. The dampers protect workplace safety and the environment, and this is our concern.
The HMT line of industrial dampers uses the most advanced technology to control flow and are the basis of modern clean technology to ensure process safety and energy efficiency.
The industrial dampers are available in various geometric shapes and can be used in any industrial application, to control and/or shut off air/flue gas flows.
Based on customer requirements, the installation setup and operating conditions, the dampers are equipped with electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators also, other options such as limit switches or sealing air fans can be installed.
The main types of flue gas dampers
- Shut-off and multileaf dampers
- Dampers for maritime applications
- Gate valves
- Crossed-out 3-way butterfly valves
- Chimney dampers / rain dampers
- Swing dampers
- Sealing systems
- Drive systems
Special materials, blade designs and sealing systems allow these valves to be used in the most extreme environments.
Our SBD and TBD dampers have been DVN/GL certified. In 2019 we received the extended DNV GL certificate that HMT SBD and TBD dampers are certified and meet the self-cleaning requirement of DNV GL Rules Pt. 4 Ch.6 Sec.8 [3.3.11].
Our customers are Shipyards and scrubber suppliers from Europe and the world. To date our dampers are installed in over 500 vessels of all sizes.
Depending upon the valve size drives are either spindle, belt, and rack and pinion.
Crossed-out 3-way butterfly valves: The function of a gas diverter/3-way butterfly valve is to divert and optionally control gaseous media. A typical application is in a gas plant or in a steam turbine power plant. Hot exhaust gases of a turbine are vented to an exhaust gas heat exchanger or an exhaust gas stack to the outside air.
Due to different pressure and temperature application, particular requirements for design and construction are needed. High-temperature applications (e.g. in the gas turbines) are a challenge. The selection of suitable materials to deal with thermal expansion require know how and appropriate design.
Areas of application
Depending on the environment and application, our customer-specific solutions meet a wide variety of safety and special requirements.
- High temperatures (1200 °C)
- Extreme temperature changes
- Fluctuating pressure loads
- High dust content
- Heavy abrasion and
corrosion loads
